Yamaha FZ16 and FZS the similar bikes launched by Yamaha

YAMAHA is a well known name in automobile market. Yamaha has launched its two similar models but with a slight different features. These are Yamaha FZ16 and FZS. Both the bikes have been fitted with an air cooled engine of 153cc. The engine is 4 stroke and works on the SOHC technology. Even the price of both the bikes is RS.65, 000 and Rs. 67000, respectively. And it is available in some great colors like lava red, midnight black and flaming orange. The bike gives a top speed of 132 kmph. The price of the bike may sound high to some people when compared to some other bikes of same class. Yamaha FZ16 gives a maximum power of 14Bhp@7500rpm and maximum torque to the bike is 13.6nm@6000rpm. while the Yamaha FZS produces a max power of 14 ps at 7500 rpm and 14 Nm of torque at 6000 rpm.

The bikes accelerates with 5 speed gear that makes bike fly like a bird and disappear with in a fraction of seconds. The bore*stroke ratio of both the bikes is 58*57.9mm. The engine has one cylinder and there are 4 valves on the cylinder and it becomes interesting to see that how smoothly one cylinder will develop the amount of power required by the bike. The fuel tank of Yamaha FZ16 is of 12litres whilst Yamaha FZS has 13 litres of fuel tank. The overall dimension of both the bikes is 1997*770*1045mm. The chassis of both the bikes is made up of diamond type material and adds up to the looks of the bike. Both the bikes have a ground clearance of 160mm.

Yamaha FZ16 is weighted as 135kg and Yamaha FZS comes with 137 kg of weight. The bike has alloy wheels and the wheel base of the bike is 1335mm. The headlamp of the bike is also very attractive and it is of 12v/35w/35w 35w.The suspension system is also made very secure as the front suspension of the bike is telescopic and the rear suspension of the bike is monocross. The wheel size of the bike is 100/60 and 140/60mm.

The brake system is good enough from safety point of view as the front brake is hydraulic disc of 267mm and the rear brake is of drum type. There is no doubt that both the bikes have same dimensions and technical specifications but what makes them different is their graphics. The bike has some design graphics different from that of each other. But it rarely make some difference if you buy any one of these two bikes. The bikes may not be competitor to each other but are providing good competition to other bikes of its class.
