Yamaha FZ1

After the amazing response that Mahindra Mojo has received in India, many bike manufacturers have come with plans to launch super bikes in India. Many global bike makers like Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Harley Davidson and Kawasaki have plans to launch super bike in India.

According to the tabloid Economic Times, Yamaha is planning to launch FZ1 in December 2010. This four cylinder 1000cc bike is likely to be priced between Rs.8-9 lakh. Yamaha FZ1 will compete with super bikes like Mahindra Mojo and Honda CB1000R in the Indian market and Kawasaki Z1000s and Suzuki Bandit in the International Market. The bike will be imported as Semi-Knocked down or SKD which will help in reducing the cost of the bike.

The biggest advantage that Yamaha FZ1 will have over other bikes is the price. The bike will be cheaper than Honda CB1000R which is the cheapest bike in the segment. The competitive price of the bike will help the company sell about 100 super bikes in India in 2010.

The super bikes segment is likely to be the fastest growing segment in India and many manufacturers are coming out with super bikes that have the latest features. The competition in this segment is likely to intensify which means the customers get the best.
