Honda CB400 Super Four Special Edition

HONDA today revealed a limited-edition version of its ancient-but-still-cool CB400 Super Four, but only for the Japanese market.

Just 500 of the Special Edition bikes will be made in both naked and faired “Bol D'Or” forms, going on sale in Japan next month. Despite the fact the CB400 hasn't seen a major model change since its introduction in 1992, with just occasional tweaks seeing it transform from the original NC31 form to the current NC42, it's looking better than ever.

A red frame helps transform it's style, adding an element of aggression that's missing on the stock machine.
Given the trend towards smaller, but still classy, bikes in Europe – witness the CBR250R and the rampant success of the Kawasaki Ninja 250R – you might have thought it would make sense to sell the CB400 over here, too, but at the moment it's remaining a Japan-only model, with a hefty £5800 list price for the naked version and £6300 for the Bol D'Or.

2011 All-New Mazda 5 Launched In Malaysia

2011 All-New Mazda 5 - Front

The 2011 all-new Mazda5 has been launched in Malaysia for RM 150,000 (OTR without insurance). The prompt launch of the latest Mazda5, which made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March, means that Malaysians have one of the most complete lineup of Mazda models to shop from—including the Mazda2, Mazda3, Mazda6, Mazda8, MX-5, RX-8, CX-7, CX-9 and BT-50—thanks to Bermaz Motor, the official local distributor of Mazda cars.

The Mazda5 wears a styling according to the Nagare design language, which mimics the flows of wind and water in nature. Along with the creases on the body supposedly creating the impression of motion, there is the familiar “smiling face” borrowed from fellow Mazda models. The cabin has a driver-oriented feel as you might expect of a car designed by the proponents of the Zoom-Zoom philosophy.

2011 All-New Mazda 5 - Interior

The seven-seater interior retains the 6+One seating arrangement, which allows for walk-through from the first row to the third row. Bigger than before and now able to accommodate a child-seat, the seventh seat is folded up between two second-row seats. Electrically-operated sliding doors provide convenient access to the rear rows of seats, both of which fold flat to increase the luggage capacity.

Equipped with Sequential Valve Timing (S-VT) and an electronic throttle, the 2.0-litre MZR engine now produces 142 bhp at 6500 rpm and 180 Nm at 4500 rpm—slightly more than the 136 bhp and 175 Nm which powered the previous-generation Mazda5. The five-speed automatic gearbox gets Active Adaptive Shift (AAS), a feature that automatically determines the gradient of the road and selects the optimal gear to best handle the situation.

The carried-over chassis soldiers on with a familiar suspension setup of MacPherson struts at the front and multi-link at the back. Standard items include an electric glass sunroof, automatic headlamps, leather steering wheel with audio controls, automatic climate control, 4-speaker audio system with 6-disc in-dash CD-changer, dual front airbags, and traction and stability control systems.

The sports car lovers in India are in enthralling mood that so many brands have been invading the Indian market. Already the segment is filled with Maserati, Ferrari, Koenigsegg and now General Motors has pleased the lovers with its Chevrolet Camaro slated for launch soon. This iconic new sports car is intended to vibrate the sports car lovers as the General Motors’s president said the initial launch will be the right hand drive with two door design. Incidentally General Motors displayed this car in the Auto Expo 2010 but was not assured of such an early launch in the world second largest growing market. However, he could not commit on the price nor the approximate period of the launch of Chevrolet Camaro.

It is believed that the new car may cost within Rs30 lakhs to be the cheapest sports car in world which may again be the most expensive among General Motors ranges in India. In its homeland, it costs $20000 for base model and $40000 for higher end models. As he ruled out assembling Camaro in India, the car will then drive into India as CBU inviting 110% import duty making the cost double than it is in the US. The President said the launch of Chevrolet Camaro will add a new dimension to GM’s brand building, irrespective of the numbers. He assured that General Motors believes in shaping the brand images, profitable and sustainable growth by offering the very best cars in India. This would, he added, pave way for settling more job opportunities.
